Central Park Gallery was established in 2001 by Jerry and Marilyn Swendsen to provide an appropriate space to experience the work of artists who have sought their inspiration from the hills of rural Pennsylvania. The gallery is housed on the first floor of the Swendsen Engineering building centered on Central Park facing the fountain and the courthouse. The building dates from the Civil War. Originally a stately residence, the marble fireplaces, expansive chestnut trim, and full height french doors make a complimentary environment for a fine art exhibition. Between events, the gallery is open by appointment. Please call Jerry Swendsen at 253-5607. This is the best way to assure the attention you deserve during your visit. However, if you find yourself in Honesdale and wish to drop in, someone is often present, especially on weekdays between noon and four o'clock. If the building is open, please come in. Church Street in Honesdale is the north bound lane of both Route 6 and Route 191, and 914 is about half way between 9th and 10th streets. |
